This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All my students are Spanish speakers. Almost 95% of their parents speak mostly Spanish and are not English proficient. My district promotes bilingual education, and my students receive Spanish language arts only. They receive math lessons in English.
My students are enthusiastic and eager to learn.
My Project
In order to keep students, families and staff safe, schools implement arrival and dismissal procedures to facilitate the process and keep traffic moving.
Taking the kids to school in the morning and collecting them again in the afternoon are quite possibly two of the most agonizing events in a parent’s day, but it doesn't have to be this way.
The drop-off and pickup process must be efficient for students and parents arriving by bus or private motor vehicle, as well as those who arrive on foot and bicycle.
With COVID 19 results in more parents driving their children to school which adds to the extra congestion and safety problems at the school, creating an increasing cycle of more traffic problems.
That’s why we are on need on a Megaphone to help our students with this critical task, to give directions, make announcements, and deliver messages improves the drop-off and pickup process.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
