My Students
I am at a school with students from a wide range of economic and social backgrounds, causing a huge imbalance of technology and information access. Additionally, my school is a magnet school for students with autism, and I have a large special needs population with many students on IEPs that require access to differentiated technological aides. Unfortunately, many of the district students and their families are unable to provide the technology that their students need to keep up with their peers. With no funds available from the district or state, my students are hoping that Donors Choose can help us get the technology our students so desperately need and deserve.
With full and equal access to all the amazing differentiated content, digital strategies, apps, websites, and programs like Google Classroom that tablet computers could provide, my students would thrive.
My Project
The use of the requested tablet computers will greatly expand the content we study so that my students can learn beyond our out-of-date textbooks and provide new and inspiring modes of learning for my extremely diverse student population.
Using the tablet computers will also allow my students to complete and save assignments digitally using software like Google Drive and Dropbox making it impossible to lose their work.
this will also save our school quite a bit of money in the costs of paper, ink, and other related supplies.
These tablets will enhance student engagement through access to the differentiated content needed to meet the needs of my extremely diverse student population. Not only will the tables aid in differentiating content, but will help in differentiating the learning process and assessment of my students as well.
