Help me give my students the best distance learning experience by providing me with a Surface Pro tablet and Epson printer to be able to fully meet the needs of my students while being at home.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is affected tremendously by the coronavirus pandemic. Not only are we out of the classroom, but about 50% of my students do not have access to the internet or a device to complete the necessary work to keep learning. Currently, I have a personal computer (for my children and I to share) and a handful of chapter books to engage my students in book clubs.
Having sufficient resources at home will allow for me to better reach my students in their homes.
With these new resources, I will be able to mail material to my students as well as better provide for those who do have access to computers and internet in their homes.
My Project
The materials selected will allow for me to better reach each student in a few different ways. First, having a device that will only be used for distance learning will allow for me to be more active through platforms such as Google Classroom and ClassDojo. Having a printer will provide me an easy way to scan documents in and send to students or post for them to see work. The printer will also allow for me to efficiently print material and sent to students who do not have devices. Headphones will allow for my attention to be focused on my students and the meetings in front of me and be free of distractions.
Distance learning is no easy feat, and these materials will allow for me to finish out the school year successfully, and reach each of the students in their homes and meet their needs.
These resources will allow for me to continue providing for students through summer school enrichment as well as years to come as I will be able to better prepare at home for lessons to take place both in and out of the classroom.
