My students need dressing frames, Pattern Blocks, a Bead Sequencing Set, and Get-A-Grip On Patterns.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Clark's classroom raised $218
This project is fully funded
I teach a prekindergarten inclusion class in a Title 1, low income school. In order to be accepted into our program, each student went through a screening process and all have been deemed "educationally at-risk". In addition, I also have students with autism and severe developmental delays. Many of my students come from low-income families and qualify for free or reduced lunch.
As a first year inclusion teacher, I have worked hard to find and create activities to meet the needs of my exceptional children. However, I need to supplement the various folder games I have made with other concrete, hands-on activities that address my students' goals, while making learning fun and interesting.
Since most of my students need to develop and strengthen their fine motor skills, I chose activities that do this as well as address the goals of my special needs students. Get a Grip on Patterns teaches concentration and patterning, while working with the pincer grasp. The pattern blocks encourage shape and color recognition. The bead sequencing set builds complex reasoning skills as well as sorting and coordination. And the dressing frames encourage children to practice dressing skills and develop finger dexterity.
Young children learn best through hands-on activities and need a variety of materials to grasp concepts and keep their interest up. Your help will give my students materials to reinforce and enhance the basic skills and knowledge they need to build the foundation for future learning. Thank you so much for considering my proposal.
