Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My special education classroom is made up of six young, wonderful, exceptional learners who need more support than most students to be successful in the school setting. As educators, we often encounter students who need a higher, more intensive level of support that goes beyond education. For me, this is the reality for all of my students who have unique learning needs and sensory diets. Even though they all share the exceptionality of autism, their education plan is individualized and varies greatly. One of the things all my students enjoy, is constant movement, spinning, pacing, dancing, and jumping to name a few!

With the addition of these swivel chairs, I will add an additional tool in our classroom that will support my students and remove barriers to their learning process.

I am constantly searching for way to maximize the use of our limited resources, and alternative seating is one that requires more than a little imagination; we need resources for supplies. I am grateful for all donations to this project and for the generosity in each donor. Know that you are changing lives and contributing to student growth, development, and joy!
