My Project

My students are typical hard-working developing teenagers. I work in an environment where these supplies aren't readily available or affordable. My students will arrive in the same clothes they wore the previous day and in need of daily hygiene products such as deodorant or menstrual pads. My goal is to establish a corner of my classroom that solely focuses on their hygiene needs and allows them to retrieve what they need while maintaining a level of privacy.

I also want my students to feel seen emotionally.

Our students come to school every day carrying all of their experiences and will use my classroom as a space to decompress. I would like to create care packages that will include deodorant and menstrual pads. These items will be stored on the shelving listed and the mirror and the college flags will be used so the students know how beautiful they are and have a daily reminder of all they can achieve.

Essentially, I would like my space to feel as comforting as possible. My students deserve this and more.
