My students need pencils to complete daily assignments. As the flue season approaches we are also in need of tissues, sanitizing wipes, and screen wipes to stay germ free.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title 1 elementary school located in the large Phoenix metropolitan area. We are in a very low socioeconomic neighborhood and a result many of our students don't have the basic needs at home. The majority of our students receive free or reduced priced lunches. My classroom consist of 23 English Language Learners, 13 boys and 10 girls. We can be a very energetic classroom in which students are active and ready to explore everything around them. We have phenomenal achievement and are always eager to learn because we come to school for one reason.....and that reason is TO LEARN!
My Project
As winter time approaches it is very difficult to avoid staying germ free. We are in need of clorox wipes, kleenex, and computer screen wipes to be able to keep our working areas clean resulting in less of us getting sick during cold winter months and missing out on our daily learning. The cleaning supplies would allow us to clean our working stations 2-3 times per week to avoid spreading germs. We are also in need of pencils to be able to successfully complete our daily assignments. As the great scholars we are, we have a tendency to overuse pencils resulting in low pencil supply. We would put pencils to great use by using them daily to complete in class and at home class assignments.
