Help me give my students the basic supplies all children deserve. Help me attend to their academic needs with a pencil sharpener and white boards. Help me meet their emotional and health needs with tissues and anxiety aids.
After 18 years of teaching, the needs of students and the demands on teachers have increased year by year. However, the supplies that I have been given by my school have decreased year by year. This year, boxes of paper were put in the copy room, and that is the complete list of school supplies that I was given to try and meet the needs of every student that walks through my doors. This project on Donorschoose will enable me to better meet the academic, health, emotional needs of my students, and allow me to prepare them for life beyond high school. My students will benefit from having tissues and antibacterial wipes especially right now because of the many diseases and germs currently circulating. Helping student stay healthy improves attendance and improves scores! Students who struggle with anxiety will benefit from having additional tools in our calm down area like a weighted stuffed animal. The main school supplies that students request to borrow in my class are tape and a pencil sharpener, they will benefit from having more immediate access to these items while they are doing their coursework.
