This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My team and I are serving a group of students with special needs, many of whom also are second language English learners. Most are reading 2 or more levels below their grade level, and the curriculum that is presented to them daily is on their grade level; it's critical that these students have consistent opportunities to also read on their independent levels in order to increase fluency, basic reading skills, enjoyment and confidence. I am planning to use the leveled materials in my cart to provide to them more of those opportunities. Thank you for considering my project. Our students have a strong desire to learn, and given the proper support of people who see their potential, they will grow and thrive.
