Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I currently teach Pre-K. Our classroom is organized using a center-based method with specific areas for activities such as reading, building, creating art, and dramatic play. In the morning, we have “free time ”where students get to decide which area they would like to play in.

What I love about my students is that they are eager and ready to learn!

They get so excited when they learn a new letter, number, shape, or color. What makes my students special is that they all try to help each other. We are a class family!

These books will make a TREMENDOUS difference in my student’s learning. We will use these books daily during story time and also at our library center.

Reading to young children is proven to improve cognitive skills and help along the process of cognitive development. The goal is to teach/motivate my students to learn to value books and stories. Reading ignites creativity, sparks curiosity, and stimulates the imagination in young children. Often, this leads to role-play as children grow which helps to develop other skills such as empathy, problem-solving, and morality.
