My Students

Learning in our own way is one of the strategies we use to provide flexibility in our classroom. My co-teacher and I would like to provide the tools needed for students to succeed by providing an environment for students to learn to the best of their ability. My co-teacher and I would like to provide a safe, comfortable and homey environment that makes learning welcoming each and every day.

My fourth graders come from a diverse school community of about 600 students.

Together, we are all part of the largest elementary school in our district. These amazing fourth graders continue to inspire me with their desire to learn, and it is my job to find a way to make it.

My Project

After working with some technology colleagues, I discovered Meeper Bots. Meeper Bots would be another innovative way for my students to practice their coding skills. Coding is part of our curriculum and what better way for students to extend or practice more of their coding than with fun materials like Meeper Bots. If we were to add Meeper Bots to our classroom, it would be a goal of mine to have a Meeper Bot - Battle Bot challenge. Students would be able to engineer designs that would "take out" other fellow Meeper Bots. Students could also create paths for the bots and figure out a coding pattern to get to the end. What an awesome, engaging idea!
