My Project

Second graders experience many challenges including academic, social and emotional. These challenges can create an environment of stress and anxiety for some of my students. Providing an outlet for my students to feel safe, secure and comfortable is essential for a productive learning environment.

My second graders need tools to help them relieve anxiety and stress in a positive, fun, healthy way.

Stress balls are a great way for students to quietly calm down, relax their mind and body. Fidget spinners and pop its are fun ways for students to let out their anxiety by channeling it with repetitive motions. Fidget toys are a terrific way for students to release anxiety by focusing on solving a fun problem.

Having these stress balls, fidgets spinners, pop its, and fidget toys stored in classroom bins will help build a stress relieving environment. Students will have the independence in choosing what works for them in reducing their anxiety level in any situation.

Singing bowls will provide my students with an opportunity to close their eyes, relax, practice controlled breathing to clear their minds and be quiet for a short amount of time. Taking these daily meditative breaks will provide more energy to my students and open their minds to increased learning.
