While I have an amazing group of inspiring third graders, they need a shot in the arm to motivate their learning! Forget the Ipad2 or other tablets, we would like a Transformer! The Asus Eee pad can be used as a tablet or transformed to a laptop!
Fifty four bright eyes stare at me each day waiting for the newest, most exciting education has to offer.
They may come to me from a variety of backgrounds, as our school serves a student population with 80% free and reduced lunch, but they are all deserving of a quality education and all that has to offer! The transformer technology in the Asus Eee pad will help bring learning to life!
My Project
Imagine being eight years old and filled with the imagination and creativity that thrive at that age. Now imagine utilizing research from your science book, reference books, and information from the Internet to complete a report on the monarch butterfly. Imagine bringing the report to life with not only your information, but streaming videos, adding your voice, and even actual photos you have taken of a monarch butterfly while at recess. All of this can be done from the 10" ASUS tablet you can hold in your hands!
Now imagine how we can also utilize this tablet to bring 3 dimensional shapes alive in our discussion of geometry, we can stream a video of an actual volcano erupting, listen to stories being read aloud by a classmate, take pictures of our growing tadpole, or simply practice phonics, or spelling words. This Eee pad is just the tablet my students need!
My third graders trust me to bring them the best education.
I want to do that. I hope to inject them with a shot of motivation, a joy of learning, and an incurable curiosity. I hope to use the Eee pad to turn that into a year of learning they'll never forget! While I hope for a tablet to cure wavering motivation, I hope the curiosity and love of learning will live on forever!
