My Project
The kit and extra Petri dishes will give a hands-on experience for the Medical Detectives to see how antibiotics affect the growth of e-coli. I will be able to have students work in small group and create smears of the ecoli and see the growth over the course of a day or two. If there is no growth around the antibiotic, then that antibiotic is useful in stopping ecoli. If the bacteria grows over and/or around the ecoli then that antibiotic... then there is resistance.
