Mechanical Stages for Microscopes

Help me give my students mechanical stages for their microscopes for the genuine college level experience.

FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Nguyen's classroom raised $298

My Project

Biology 121 is the first half of college-level biology that my students experience. My goal is to provide students with the opportunity to explore and understand microscope structures that form the foundations of life. By installing high-quality microscope tools and mechanisms into our biology curriculum, students gain hands-on experience, deepen their understanding of concepts, and develop essential lab skills for future academic and career pursuits in STEM.

Access to genuine lab equipment like these microscope stages transforms learning by allowing students to get genuine experience using industry-standard biological tools.

My students will foster curiosity, improve scientific literacy, and be inspired to pursue STEM careers. These tools can make a profound difference in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. With this project, students will be able to observe cells and tissues to understand structure and function, study microorganisms and their role in our fish tank and ecosystems, perform higher efficacy experiments on cellular processes, and analyze the differences between kingdoms of organisms. Additionally, the cleaning swabs will allow us to clean and maintain the high-power objectives necessary for high-fidelity microscopy. These microscope stages will serve students year after year providing them with the highest fidelity observation and interaction with biological phenomena in ways that enhance their engagement and understanding.
