Close your eyes and imagine doing a science lab in class. Did you see plastic cups and spoons? How about a teacher sticking her finger in water to test the temperature?
We are a small, public, rural school with 61% of students qualifying for the free/reduced lunch program.
We have very limited budgets for our classrooms. The room I'm moving into has no equipment or materials at all. Your help is greatly needed to provide us with some basics.
My Project
Students should be reading thermometers, weighing materials using scales, and handling beakers in labs, not measuring with plastic spoons and cups. They should also learn about light through hands-on investigations. Without these resources, they will learn about light through books and you-tube videos.
These resources will aid students in many science labs while strengthening their measuring and their math skills.
Students should use lab equipment, not picnic-ware for investigations.
More than half of students from low‑income households
