My Project
My students learn very quickly how important measurement is in science and engineering. They also learn that measurement applies to many other occupations and everyday activities.
They learn best when they can be hands-on with the skill they are learning.
They are curious, hard working, and focused when it comes to solving problems that they can relate to. Bringing scales into the classroom will allow my students to be able to test their knowledge of formulas and equations in real life and not just on a worksheet.
I would love it if my students did not all have to share one scale. More scales would allow for more practice. The scales that I am requesting also give a more accurate reading than the scale that we currently use.
Their favorite part of the week is lab day and I know adding more scales would increase their engagement even more.
