Measuring Liquids Is Not Easy, Especially With No Beakers
My students need graduated cylinders and beakers so that they can do experiments involving liquid materials.

My Students
Experimenting is one of the greatest parts of the science classroom but sadly, we can only experiment with dry materials. Powders and weights can only take you so far in an experiment. There needs to be water and vinegar added to the mix, but only in the correct amounts. This is where we fall short.
My students are a wonderful group of people!
They are so excited about doing experiments and hands-on learning activities. Many of these students come from poorer homes and do not have access to many opportunities outside of school. They need the hands-on to create solid, concrete examples of scientific concepts.
My Project
Being able to measure liquids opens up a whole other world for the students. With the graduated cylinder sets, the students will be able to construct density columns of different heights and milliliters. With the beakers, the students will be able to mix different chemicals. The beakers will be the basis for many color-changing experiments that the students will have the opportunity to try out.
Measurement is a basic skill that students need to have.
It is something that can be used in the science lab to the kitchen. Students need to understand how to make precise measurements of more than dry goods.
