This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California where children come to school each morning ready to learn and grow! There's never a dull moment in our class. My students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They're eager to learn, explore, engage and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them.
We need more instructional materials for the children to engage with, materials that will foster their interest in technology, literacy, math, science, art and engineering.
Every single one of my students deserves a fair chance at having his or her potential nurtured and fully developed. My little ones have an insatiable curiosity, that's why it's important for me to have a class with a variety of instructional materials to meet their educational needs.
My Project
With the Lakeshore Measurement Centers - Complete Set, my students will be participating in simple investigations that will help them learn concepts such as length, volume and weight. As the children engage with the measuring tools they will be learning problem solving , counting, comparing, estimating and a variety of new mathematics vocabulary terms.
Furthermore with the Patterning Match - Ups my students will be using mathematical thinking while identifying and creating patterns fostering the beginning of their mastery of life long mathematical skills.
The Moods and Emotions Mirrors will boost my students social - emotional awareness as they learn to identify and understand a range of moods and emotions.
