My Students
My classes are packed with enthusiastic students who are eager to learn and grow. Each has their own story of strengths and challenges, but they all desire the opportunity to gain the best learning that can be provided.
Each school day we gather to find new ways to engage in learning, and I have the opportunity of seeing them as they get a little closer to accomplishing their various dreams.
COVID-19 has added additional challenges as we have tried to identify and fill gaps in learning as students were online, or have missed class due to illness. This has made small group instruction and increasing opportunities to respond essential so that individual needs can be identified and met.
My Project
We will use these resources during whole group instruction to check for understanding, as well as in small group settings where the students are getting targeted support to meet their needs. The white boards, teacher manipulatives, and write & wipe boards will be used during whole group instruction to give me an idea where each of my students are at with the different skills we are working on. The other supplies, including the money stamps, tens frames, timers and cards, will be used during small group instruction to give practice opportunities and targeted help with needed skills. My students have missed learning opportunities in multiple ways, and these resources will increase their engagement as we continue to look for areas they are finding success, as well as those gaps we need to fill. The manipulates and supplies will help give them many opportunities to respond to a variety of prompts, and will help me identify how to help them find their greatest success.
