Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project isn’t just for my classroom — it’s for our entire school community. With the resources provided, including easy-to-prepare food options and basic tools, all students from kindergarten through 6th grade will have access to snacks and meals they can make themselves. Teachers and staff will also be able to discreetly provide food to students in need, offering support when it’s most needed.
Students can get involved by helping assemble food bags, sorting and organizing supplies, decorating labels or bags, and helping keep the space tidy.
Their involvement gives them a sense of ownership and helps build a culture of care and support throughout our school.
This shared resource helps us build a schoolwide safety net — one that tells every child: you are seen, you are supported, and you matter.
It’s about nourishment, but it’s also about dignity, community, and care.
With your support, we can ensure that no student has to go through their school day hungry, and that every child has the chance to thrive.
