Meals on Wheels Food Truck Challenge

Help me give my students the fun in learning with the Lego Food Truck and cart building kits so they can design their own businesses while learning about nutrition and creating healthy food choices.

My Project

We will turn nutrition education into a fun challenge by incorporating learning with the design of a food truck business.

Students will learn about food groups and the six major nutrients and how they contribute to healthy eating for teens.

They will learn about reading and understanding food labels to make good choices about what they eat.

Using the different themes of the Lego food trucks, student teams will create menus for their food trucks that include a variety of healthy food options including alternatives to traditional fast food and the incorporation of fresh and locally available ingredients. The hands on building of the Lego food trucks will add a fun activity for this challenging learning project.

In addition to the nutrition based learning, students will learn branding by creating catchy names, logos and slogans for their food trucks, and business concepts by creating prices and budgets for their food truck business.
