May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Help me give my students polymer lab kits that with help demonstrate the science of polymers, highlight Asian and Pacific Islander STEM contributions and help foster environmental responsibility for the future of microplastic abatement into our environment.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In May we will celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month by highlighting the STEM achievements of scientists of these cultures.
The contributions in the field of polymer science by Asian and Pacific Islander scientists will be examined and celebrated.
Experiments that both demonstrate and allow students to experience the science of polymers and will also be used show there utility in modern civilization. We will experiential learning to address disparities that exist in the recognition of these and other cultures in STEM fields.
We will use multiple lessons and hands-on activities to show invention, give credit to inventors that are/were not celebrate because of their race, geographical location and/or cultural bias. We will demonstrate the wonders of polymers and how they are gifts with great responsibility, in making sure that we minimize the impact of microplastics in our environment, food and water.
