This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are struggling readers, but they all come with the capacity to learn and grow. Introducing them to great literature not only takes them into the world of the characters but teaches them to dream and aspire to more than they can immediately see.
Students not only learn about great characters and explore wonderful places, but through reading, they can also learn new vocabulary, proper syntax, and cohesion in writing.
Reading is as important to learning as breathing is to living.
My Project
All students learn differently. However, most learn well if not best when presented with visual media. I am looking forward to introducing my students to new worlds in history as we explore Egypt, Rome, Greece, China and all the other ancient civilizations students learn about in sixth grade by introducing them to educational sources like National Geographic and History Channel and have them tour these nations through video programming.
These wireless speakers will provide auditory support to enhance the visual experience students will receive when touring ancient civilizations on video.
