it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken community.
Our school consists of a very large English language learner population.
All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs of school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for the next level of life.
I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer and I am determined to help them get it. These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.
My Project
Now that I'm teaching math again I've realized that I'm in need of math manipulatives to help enhance instruction, reteach in small groups, and independent practice. These materials aren't just your basic ones, they're enhancing and making student practice exciting!
To maximize math, these resources will help engage my mathematicians in engaging, hands on ways!
In 4th grade mathematicians are expected to know: properties of lines & angles, conversions of measurements, fraction equivalence, measure angles, decimal notation with/without fractions, multiplying whole numbers by 4 digits, and use the four operations to solve problems.
