Help me give my students a Surface Pro to give me the opportunity to maximize my productivity by being able to take my lessons onto the virtual platform.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year is the first year I had the honor of teaching seniors. I had no idea that I would not have the opportunity to see my students graduate in person. I have attended football games, soccer matches, and have attended events to support my students and it is heartbreaking to not see them receive their diplomas at the end of the school year. This is especially unfortunate since my students come from low-income households and graduation is a huge accomplishment.
My students and I are now learning to navigate a virtual classroom setting.
Mathematics can be a difficult subject for many students, and providing video tutorials is a great way to help my students learn during these unprecedented times.
My Project
Teaching from home has been an eye-opening experience. My students and I have been learning from each other and have adapted to this new way of gaining knowledge. It has also brought to my attention the best way my students learn, all while having to deal with the many hardships they face at home. Many students are unable to attend live synchronous learning sessions and are better equipped to learn when they have the time. This project will allow me to help my students by giving me the tools to create any video tutorial they need in order to better understand mathematics.
