This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have so much resilience and determination. Unfortunately, they have been impacted by this national pandemic and learning has been more difficult than ever. They attend an inner-city school in a low-income community where lack of resources places them at disproportionate levels.
My Project
My third graders have been learning from home and have been trying to persevere in spite of the many factors that have made learning difficult. Fraction dry-erase boards will support kinesthetic and visual learners.
Math should be hands-on and with your support, my students will have an opportunity to be fully engaged in math!
My students don't all have the math manipulatives and materials that are essential to thriving in math. They are learning from home and are finding it difficult to understand and grasp standards-based concepts. To help make math less abstract and more concrete, I am hoping to bring math tools to their homes to make learning equitable and engaging.
