My students need math manipulatives and STEM projects, such as cuisenaire rods, fraction circles, and circuit boards, to provide challenging, hands-on activities.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are high-achieving in math so they need to be challenged! I want them to have fun while they are learning math so they don't even realize they are learning. By the end of the school year, I want them to be motivated and determined to succeed.
My students are amazing.
They are very bright and they think outside the box. They love math and they love a challenge! I am very fortunate to work at a school with such caring teachers and staff. They will do anything to help students learn and succeed.
My Project
Math manipulatives will allow my students to show their conceptual understanding of math standards. It is one thing to show it on paper but using manipulatives allows them endless possibilities. They can create and question each other. STEM activities, such as cuisenaire rods and circuit boards, will also allow students who are fast finishers to work on something they enjoy. It allows them to have opportunities to work with objects they are interested in.
This donation will improve my classroom by giving my students more opportunities to become stronger mathematicians.
The manipulatives and STEM activities will enhance their learning by providing activities they wouldn't have otherwise. They will help my students grow and love math even more!
