Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in a Tite I school where my district, school, and my students are unable to purchase many of the necessary supplies needed for sixth grade. Many of my students are children who speak English as a second language. These students have many struggles to overcome and not having the necessary supplies should not hold them back from being successful.
These students are super hard workers, and want to excel.
There are over 90 students in the sixth grade and not enough materials to go around for my math class. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
The use of notebooks, pencils, markers, and paper in my classroom for daily activity in my classroom is necessary to excel. My students will use these items for warm ups, homework, classwork, reviews, and group projects. The pencils and notebooks will be used for journal time to practice daily problems and take notes in. The folders purchased will be used for fact fluency classwork. And the paper that is donated will be used for copies for daily practice and complete center items for reviewing concepts in a fun and engaging way.
The donations to this project will fund items that will be put to use from the first day of school and used throughout the year.
I know my students will be very excited to have brand new supplies waiting for them to use.
With budget cuts our supplies has been drastically cut this year. Without the help of generous donors, we can not afford even the most basic supplies. Please help me to get my students the supplies we need for a successful year in sixth grade math.
