This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The year 2020 has provided the students of P.S. 239 with many twists and turns. Some were planned for and others were not. Throughout the ups and downs of the year the students have put their utmost effort towards their academics and adjusted to remote learning with ease.
Students at PS 239 have a passion for learning and success, despite the obstacles they encounter.
I admire their resilience through these difficult times and it is my pleasure to teach them.
My Project
Due to the nature of blended learning, all students are learning remotely at least one day a week. When students are learning at home they lack the materials needed to solve problems.
Funds from this project will provide ALL students at PS239 with dry erase markers to solve math problems at home.
The staff at PS 239 is providing each student with a laminated math toolkit to use at home while they solve problems. Dry erase markers will allow the students to use and reuse their math toolkits while solving problems.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
