My Students
I am a special educator and I teach kindergarten students at a high-poverty school in Brooklyn, NY. It is a brand new school with tons of potential. The school includes students from 3-K to 5th grade. My students are enthusiastic about learning and growing in their education. They thrive during hands-on activities. They are active, kind, talented, and curious students who are developing a love of learning. It is a melting pot of children from all around the world. My goal is to provide them with a rich and fun environment for learning.
My Project
The materials I am asking for will help my students engage in hands-on math experiences that will help them reach their individual math goals. They will foster a love for mathematics through engaging activities and lessons using manipulatives. All of my students learn at a different pace, so having activities that would benefit different students is crucial in my classroom. One of my goals as a teacher is to instill a love for math to all my students. I want my kindergarteners to confidently believe in their skills as mathematicians.
