My students are critical thinkers who want more! Some students have had limited exposure to persevering through problem-solving and working together. They need support to thrive. They are willing to reflect, ask questions, and make mistakes.
These avid investigators are learning how to navigate the world they were given.
Every day, these students show that learning, despite challenges, is possible. They may not have made their goals yet, but they continue to amaze me with their willingness to keep moving forward.
My Project
Helping students see themselves as mathematicians starts with the belief that anyone can learn new things and gain more knowledge. My students need number lines, place value disk, and multi- sensory tools to build numeracy. Students will have to time work in small groups. Working in small groups will help students to have a strong foundation in math. One of my favorite math tools are playing cards. Students will be able to play while learning. As students will be coming back to school face to face having tools that are fun will have all my students saying they are mathematicians.
