Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials that I selected for my project will be used to create a motivating and engaging learning environment for my sixth-grade students.
The items requested will allow us to create interactive math notebooks, make bright anchor charts & utilize online programs.
Over the past eight years, I have come across quite a few reluctant learners who are intimidated by math. However, when students are able to do math in a creative way and use a different approach, they see how fun learning can be.
Pencils, glue sticks and liquid glue will allow students to create foldables and interactive notebooks throughout the school year. The easel pads and Mr. Sketch markers will allow my students and I to create anchor charts to display new content around the classroom. The charts help teach vocabulary, illustrate examples and make the learning fun. Earphones are necessary so that students can use online math resources such as HMH and Khan Academy. Lastly, the calculators, whiteboard markers/erasers, dominoes and math practice books will be used to support the curriculum.
