Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
WE ARE THE MATHEMATICIANS OF TOMORROW! We are a wonderful Kindergarten class, full of energy and desire to achieve! We are located in a low income community in Southern California with a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Mathematics is an extremely important part of our Kindergarten curriculum.
We are starting a new math program this year that will really be challenging them to think! The children can only take so many worksheets and so they need resources for hands-on activities that require them to manipulate with their hands and provide them with a different mode of learning.
My Project
We are starting a new math program that will be challenging the children in math. The use of these supplies will give the children a chance to build their Kindergarten math skills in a new and different way. These resources will bring a new excitement to the learning experience of these young children and begin to develop in them a love for math.
Your help would make it possible for these young children to see a different method of learning the basics of math!
We should not be placing only worksheets in front of these children at this point in their learning, as they will be doing enough of that in the future. These hands-on activities will aid my students in learning the necessary skills, while having fun at the same time. Your gift would make this dream possible!
