My Project
My students enjoy working with math tools to build their mathematical understanding. They enjoy playing math games with their peers and demonstrating new learning independently.
With these math tools, students will be able to conceptualize and build their measurement, geometry, and fact fluency skills!
During our measurement unit, they will use the rulers and color tiles to measure objects around the classroom. When we focus on geometry, students will use the 2D and 3D shapes to create larger shapes out of smaller shapes and to count the points and sides. For our fractions unit, students will learn how to identify, make, and write fractions and recognize fraction equivalents. To build fact fluency, students will play games with a variety of math tools, such as the dice and dominoes.
These activities will support students in visualizing and mastering these concepts. Students will use the materials during small group and independent activities.
