Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a learning community that prides itself on being a safe zone for our students. We are located in the center of Watts, California, where violence, gangs, and misfortunes are an everyday occurrence. Most of our students come from a low-income families. The school is a vessel for opportunities for our families. In some cases, we are the first step to connecting the families to needed resources and outreach. It is a gift to be a member of this remarkable learning community. The students are scholars who try very hard to improve their current life situation.

My Project

These materials will help me enhance my instruction to give the students the needed help with problem solving skills for mathematical success. The materials will provide me with a variety of strategies and problem solving skills needed for Common Core achievement. The material will be used for my daily instruction during virtual learning and intervention groups.

Students need these resources to help them be productive learners in their home environment.

These materials will be used to continue implementing quality instruction, hands-on experiences, and explicit instruction. The materials will provide a cross curriculum experience for the students to connect to everyday life experiences.
