Math is a subject nearly every student struggles with, and my students are no exception. By using manipulatives and seeing visuals such as anchor charts, these tools will help them better understand place values, addition, subtraction, and even word problems. I have seen students struggle with visualizing and solving math problems mentally, and using these tools can be extremely beneficial to learners that have a hard time doing mental math.
When given the opportunity to learn, most students prefer hands-on learning.
My students love reading and learning new things, however, they can be easily overwhelmed with new content and information. By creating colorful and easy to read anchor charts, my hope is that students can see the math process broken down and simplified. Counting chips, blocks, and other aids can be used to help students in the learning process. The products that I have added will reach this goal in my classroom.
