My Project
The items chosen will help my third grade students practice and prepare for our highly coveted Mathapalooza competition. Our school district holds a Mathapalooza competition each year. We have 500 spots for our entire 3rd grade district and it normally fills up by day 2.
Healthy competitions allow us to see others that are like minded and it fuels our passion to learn more!
My gifted students have an opportunity to participate in a competition that tests their math skills. They register for a Saturday competition to see how they compare to other students when it comes to individual math competitions, team math competitions and a team stem building competition. The competitions allow them to challenge themselves individually and to practice their collaboration skills during the team competitions.
The items chosen including a storage cart and dry erase cloths will be used at the competition. This will allow us to prepare and work on our communication skills while practicing using competition rules.
