My Project
I teach a group of smart, eager, and curious 2nd graders. My students have a diverse set of learning needs. These manipulatives are a crucial component that make math ideas more accessible to students with diverse learning needs. Math manipulatives are an important component of math instruction. Math manipulatives help make abstract ideas concrete. Manipulatives help students build concrete models to represent the concepts that they are learning. Math manipulatives encourage problem solving skills while helping them grow their math foundation. Evidence-based research shows that the use of manipulatives is strong and shows that student achievement improves over the long term when they are used.
