Math Vocabulary One Word at a Time

My students need some math dictionaries to help them better visualize their math vocabulary.

My Students

My students want to learn math, and they strive to understand the concepts and vocabulary they come in contact with. Math dictionaries will help them better understand these ideas as we work on them in the classroom.

Eighty percent of the students who attend my school receive free or reduced lunch.

Many students do not have opportunities to have many hands-on experiences outside of the classroom! With the economy in the crisis it is in, getting help from families to purchase materials such as these dictionaries is just not possible. These books would be used on a daily basis during math instruction.

My Project

Having the opportunity to look words and concepts up, as students come across them, when completing something independently or in the math workshop groups would be extremely beneficial. These dictionaries will help my students become more independent learners in the mathematics classroom.

Dictionaries are a wonderful tool to help students practice math concepts and learn new math words.

These dictionaries would allow my students to be self-checking in the math classroom. They will also help my students to be more independent, as well as provide the opportunity for students to be more efficient when correcting mistakes they have in the curriculum.
