Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First graders use a variety of resources to help them learn! They do their best when they have access to manipulatives and different math materials. Our curriculum asks for the use of many different math tools and the distribution of the materials takes up a lot of time. I would love for our classroom to have an improved flow by students already having materials in their own tool boxes, where they can independently select different learning tools.

These new resources will help students become flexible learners.

These materials will help them build independence, develop their metagcognition skills, and providing students with access to important manipulative. In our math lessons students will be using their manipulatives to show their thinking and to help tricky abstract math thinking become more concrete.
