This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Strong mathematical concepts open horizons to children, making them more confident in their success. A solid mathematical foundation ideally starts at home with counting the number of people in the household, the number of forks set at the table, the shapes of objects, and other essential concepts that facilitate the introduction of basic concepts taught in school that will lead children into becoming productive adults.

The materials requested in this project will provide the means to develop these critical mathematical skills for first graders, leading them to successful adulthood.

When children learn these concepts through the use of manipulatives, they master mathematical skills more quickly and confidently.
