Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 30 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small, Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
Math is one of those subjects that most kids "think" they hate! My goal is to make sure my students learn all of the math concepts they need to succeed. To that end, I incorporate math centers giving students a chance to learn math concepts while having fun!
Math centers are a great way to learn!
Not only do my students practice skills and concepts, but they also enjoy it! The math games and manipulatives requested in this project will stimulate their minds, teach important skills needed to compute and problem solve complex problems, all while having fun! My students will soon discover that they don't hate math; they will love it!
