My Students
"I know how to do this in a different way," said some of my students.
My students are Math thinkers.
They love to do solve Math problems in many different ways and explore all possible ways to solve a math problem. All of my students come from different social economical backgrounds. However, their love and enthusiasm towards Math is unstoppable.
My Project
We are implementing Common Core Math. We need the practice books with math problems that are aligned with Common Core Standards. More importantly, they are in Chinese. My students are in a Mandarin Immersion Program where Math is taught in Chinese. With the material, they can apply their Math knowledge and language skills at the same time. They will not just learn concepts in Chinese, but actually see the problems written in Chinese.
This project will make learning more meaningful.
Students have always learned Math concepts in Chinese, but their practice books are in English. Now, students can read, write, and think in Chinese as they do Math.
