My Project
For many students, math can be arduous and overall difficult to grasp concepts when taught in a traditional straightforward way. As a third-grade, special education teacher, I've noticed that the difficulties with the conceptual understanding of math can be even more troublesome for students with disabilities.
These math manipulatives, games, and electronic quiz cards can reach struggling students with different modalities of learning, making math interactive and fun.
These tools will help students play an active role in their learning, enabling visual, tactile, and auditory processing. It allows them to practice multiple ways to solve a problem and show their thinking. These tools will also help foster independence and confidence among struggling learners. Most of all, the interactive nature will promote fun in learning math for all students.
