Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a Title 1 school in Los Angeles. My students come from a lower socio-economic population. I work with grade 1 and grade 2. They are engaged and love to learn. The students are mathematical thinkers and they love to input their thoughts and express their thinking. They also love to help each other.

My Project

With new funding for my position as a Primary Promise Mathematics Support Teacher, I am excited to do small group intervention so that I can support students' mathematical thinking and build their fluency and foundation in math. I want to ensure that they have strong number sense and foundational math skills so that they can thrive in mathematics throughout their academic journey.

I need as many math resources so that I can help these students.

I am excited to work with them and create lesson plans that will target their specific mathematical needs. Through math interventions, I believe that the students' academic performance will improve.
