Math Station Celebration!

My students need new materials for our math small group work. The clear sleeve paddles will allow students to do a dramatic reveal of their answers to each other, making their partner games more engaging.

My Students

My smart and sassy mathematicians apply their skills every day in our West Side Chicago classroom. To cement their understanding, small group materials are needed to help them apply and celebrate their learning. Taking their number and geometry skills from the concrete, to the pictorial, and then to the abstract takes a lot of strategic practice and work. My eager littles are ready for the hard work- but they your help getting the right tools to show what they know!

My Project

My first grade scholars work hard every single day, whether it is whole class, independent, or partner work. To meet the needs of all of my students, I meet with small groups so each students gets the instruction at their own level.

To make sure not a moment of learning is lost, we need new station materials to keep the other students engaged in meaningful work while they wait for their rotation with the teacher.

The materials listed below would provide my students with independent activities to help them master mathematical concepts.

The paddles would allow student to play games in groups of 2s and 4s, writing out their answers and dramatically revealing them together. The clear template would allow me to change out to different templates, making these paddles applicable for all areas of mathematics. The tangram and attribute block materials will allow students to apply their geometry learning through play, reinforcing key spatial concepts. The number lines will allow students to check their fact fluency work while I work with strategic small groups. My students are ready for the hard work- are you able to help?
