This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kids need to see the power of math using the Internet and how it can change your life! They need to see the relevance of how math and technology can change their life. I teach 6th-8th grade math in a high-need area where the students are hungry to learn but lack the resources.
My students simply lack the resources to see how current technology and math can change the way they live and increase their standard of living. Students are stuck in the old 20th century while all around them education is changing. The students are using my own PC to create study tools in math, research the history of math and learn web sites that can help them in everyday mathematics.
We need a mobile PC that go from student table to student table so the students can work in groups and share. By doing this, they can share what they learned and share the power of current technology mixed with basic math skills can be.
Students will be researching Math applications, history and creating their own study tools. They will learn how math is used in everyday life and how the internet used correctly is powerful.
Your help with ensure the high needs students have the same resources the entire country has. You will create a hunger for learning!
