HELP!! I have been assigned to be the data specialist in my overcrowded elementary school. I am desperate for a Microsoft Surface Pro computer with a type cover and Microsoft Office.
I am a Math Specialist in a Title One elementary school that is located in the Bronx, New York.
My career spans 24 years in the same building. During that time I have taught kindergarten through fifth grade. For the past six years I have been assigned as a math specialist. This year my principal surprised me with the request that I also take the position of data specialist. Did I mention that there are over 1200 students enrolled in my school? I am a numbers person and love the challenge of analyzing our school's data. However, I really need a computer that is also up for the challenge!!
My Project
I truly need a computer that is versatile and can do a lot of tricks. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 completely fits this bill. It is capable of handling numerous spreadsheets and imputing and analyzing of numbers. I would be able to compare our progress grade through grade. More importantly, during professional development I can easily carry the computer to project the data. Speaking about being able to carry the computer without a problem, I will be able to bring this computer to the numerous workshops that I have been enrolled in by my principal. This coming July, I will be attending a three day work shop that concentrates on data analysis. The workshop is called Data Analysis for Educators. I am also going to attend a workshop in August, that is called Understanding I-Ready Data. All my work can be kept on one computer instead of me constantly searching my jump drives for information. That alone can save hours of time.
A Microsoft Surface Pro 3 computer, type cover, and Microsoft Office are ideal for my new data specialist position.
I will benefit because all my information, from workshops and data, will all be organized on one computer. My colleagues will benefit because our professional development sessions will be informative, plus when asked a question, I will have the answers at my fingertips. We will REALLY be able to use data to drive instruction.
