Help me give my students ETA hand2mind Daily Math Fluency Kit with Number Strings, Math Talks (Grade 1) and the Pop & Add Games Complete Set for hands-on math fun and exploration!
My students are fun loving, eager to learn children with special needs ranging in grades from kindergarten through first grade. They attend a K-1 self-contained Special Ed class in a public school in Queens.
My students are supported with hands-on activities and topics they enjoy.
They love to learn about animals, plants and the natural world.
Students often work in small groups to develop academic and social skills. They are learning to collaborate with their peers and share ideas and express themselves through learning experiences.
My Project
Math made fun means students using hands-on exploration through manipulatives and their senses to connect and find their own solutions. Through games such as Lakeshore's Pop & Add Games, students can play to learn to add and compare numbers through play.
Students in kindergarten and first grade will use the ETA Hands2Minds Math Talks kit to develop a conceptual understanding of numbers and math strategies by discussing and manipulating numbers and visuals.
Math talks and games will allow my students to be motivated to learn challenging new concepts by using their hands and collaborating with peers to manipulate objects and make their own connections.
